OK Mobility moves top international tennis in Stuttgart and Majorca

  • The global mobility company will provide transport to the players and officials for the BOSS Open in Stuttgart and the Mallorca Championships, the warm-up tournaments before Wimbledon.

OK Mobility will be the official mobility provider for ATP 250 tennis tournaments BOSS Open in Stuttgart and Mallorca Championships which will be held from 4 – 12 June in the Weissenhof Tennis Club (Stuttgart) and from 18 – 25 June in the Mallorca Country Club of Santa Ponça (Majorca), respectively. The global mobility company will therefore provide transport for the players and tournament organizers, offering them our fleet of vehicles for the duration of both tournaments.

In a ceremony held this morning at OK’s headquarters in Palma, e|motion group, the organising company, officially introduced OK as mobility provider to the relevant institutions and the media, highlighting the new characteristics of these two European tournaments. Attendees included OK Mobility’s CEO, Othman Ktiri, the CEO of e|motion group, Edwin Weindorfer and the Manager of the ATP 250 Mallorca Championships tournament and OK Mobility Ambassador, Toni Nadal.

Edwin Weindorfer wanted to highlight “at e|motion group we are very proud to partner globally with OK Mobility not only in Mallorca but also to grow our collaboration and become a sponsor of the ATP 250 BOSS Open tournament in Stuttgart. Our events seek to partner with the best brands and this agreement confirms that we are working in the right direction”.

During this ceremony, Toni Nadal affirmed that “following the success of the first edition of the ATP Mallorca Championships held in 2021, also supported by OK, e|motion group and OK Mobility and bringing sport and mobility together again. Seeing OK’s commitment to sport and the values they represent first-hand makes me more and more proud to be part of the family, the OK Team.

In turn, OK Mobility’s CEO, Othman Ktiri, highlighted the company’s unconditional support to these international tournaments. This year, OK Mobility’s commitment to sport is taking a qualitative leap. Not only are we present once again in the Mallorca Championships, which allows us to participate in an event which turns our island into a focal point of international sporting interest which boosts tourism promotion and attracts quality tourism, but also, as a new feature, we will be there in BOSS Open in Stuttgart. A collaboration which is completely in line with expansion and internationalization that we have been working on in our company via our OK on the Road Plan.

By joining forces, we show once again that business and sport share the same common denominator: values. Sacrifice, teamwork, overcoming challenges. Without these values, the results would not be the same” added Ktiri.

The ATP tournament in Stuttgart, where top figures in global tennis such as Rafael Nadal (2015), Dominic Thiem (2016), Roger Federer (2018) and Marin Cilic (2021) have taken part in previous editions, will welcome the great Andy Murray this year, winner of three Grand Slams, and Nick Kyrgios, former number 13 seed and winner of six ATP titles, among others. 55,000 spectators are expected to attend the event.

Ahead of the Mallorca Championships, the ATP 250 category event which acts as a prelude to Wimbledon has already confirmed players Pablo Carreño, recent medalist at the Tokyo Olympics and Nick Kyrgios, Australian Open doubles champion. And, as a novelty, the organization has confirmed the Spanish Roberto Bautista, champion of ten ATP titles. The tournament, which will be played on natural grass courts, will have a capacity of 2,500 spectators a day in the stands.

OK Mobility lands in the Canary Islands with a double opening in Gran Canaria and Tenerife Sur

  • The global mobility company consolidates its presence in the main Spanish sun and beach tourist destinations.

OK Mobility continues to advance in its expansion plan and opens two new OK Stores in the Canary Islands, specifically in Gran Canaria and Tenerife Sur. Two openings with which the global mobility company reinforces its presence in the key Spanish sun and beach tourist destinations and with which it responds to customers’ high demand to have the company’s services in this destination.

The new OK Store in Tenerife, the largest and most populated island of the Canary archipelago, will open its doors at the end of May and will be located at Tenerife Sur airport, which received a traffic volume of 11.2 million passengers in 2019.

For its part, the new OK Store in Gran Canaria, the third island of the Canary archipelago in terms of size and the first in population density, will offer its services from June onwards and will be located at the island’s airport, through which 13.3 million passengers passed in 2019.

OK Mobility’s Development Director, Víctor Gómez, stressed that “with the entry of OK Mobility in the Canary Islands, not only we are present in the two Spanish archipelagos, consolidating our presence in Spain’s main holiday destinations, but we also respond to our customers’ demands to offer our mobility services in the Canary Islands“.

For his part, OK Mobility’s CEO, Othman Ktiri, has shown his satisfaction with the fact that the arrival of OK in the Canary Islands is already a reality. 10 years after the opening of our first OK Store in Mallorca, I am thrilled to be able to say, finally, that OK Mobility is already present across Spain. Being present in eight countries, it was important to close the circle in our home country.”

Having been born in the Balearic Islands, we are very aware of the specifications that insularity implies. An implementation in an archipelago has to be done with humility and respect and, in this sense, our intention is none other than to be able to offer our services to our customers so that they can tour the magnificent natural landscapes offered by both Gran Canaria and Tenerife“, adds Ktiri.

In this way, OK Mobility continues to accelerate its national and international expansion process with the recent openings of new OK Stores in Frankfurt and Pisa, while continuing to strengthen and consolidate its presence within the national territory, with these two new OK Stores in the Canary Islands or with the recent opening of the OK Store on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona.

It is now possible to make car rental reservations in Tenerife Sur with pick-ups from may 20th and in Gran Canaria, with pick-ups from June 1st onwards, through okmobility.com, being able to choose from a wide range of modern and fully equipped vehicles that meet the mobility needs of each customer and their type of trip.

Humanitarian aid arrives in Ukraine

Tons of Mallorcan solidarity reach the orphanages and hospitals of the Ukrainian region of Transkarpatia thanks to the “Ukraine is not alone” project promoted by the NGO Llevant en Marxa, which has partnered with OK Mobility, through the Fundación Othman Ktiri.

For three days an expedition of volunteers from the Mallorcan NGO travelled, aboard a trailer and three OK Mobility vans, the thousands of kilometres that separate Mallorca and the Ukrainian border in Slovakia to achieve the objective of bringing humanitarian aid to the victims of the war.

Loaded with tons of food and medical material, the convoy met the planned schedule and three days after leaving Mallorca and after a stopover at OK Village, OK’s logistics facilities in Barcelona, where the collected material was received, the expedition arrived at the border to deliver the aid.

At OK Mobility we are proud of the Mallorcan society’s great response and we would like to thank them for their support and solidarity to this initiative promoted by the NGO Llevant en Marxa.

5 tips for maintaining correct posture in the office

Age, a sedentary lifestyle, poor posture at work and even hereditary factors can cause back pain. To prevent this common ailment, it is important to exercise regularly to keep the back muscles strong and flexible.

It is also crucial to take care of our posture at the workplace, especially when we spend eight hours or more in front of a computer screen.

By following these five tips, you can prevent the infamous “office ailments” ranging from spinal problems, backaches and headaches to tendonitis and joint discomfort.

#1 Change your posture

Changing posture from time to time increases circulation and makes blood and oxygen move better throughout the body. It is advisable to stand up for a few minutes every now and then to walk and stretch, and to rest your eyes for at least five minutes.

#2 Neck and head in upright position

If you work in front of a computer it is important to keep your neck straight. Adjust your chair to achieve this position or place an object under your computer screen to raise it to eye level. Remember that the computer screen should be about 45 centimetres away from your face.

#3 Sit properly

When spending so many hours sitting on the same chair, it is very common to slouch. Therefore, the back should always be against the backrest, with lumbar support, to keep the spine straight and upright. In addition, the chest should also be straight and the shoulders should never be raised when typing or writing.

#4 Feet in contact with the ground and legs never crossed

The position of our feet is a fundamental element in achieving the correct posture to avoid back pain. We must always keep our feet in contact with the ground, i.e. resting on a surface. If you have already adjusted your chair and your feet are not firmly on the floor, you can use a footrest. Moreover, the legs should always be at right angles to the back and should never be crossed.

#5 Avoid repetitive movements

When we repeat a gesture many times, we can overload the muscles and cause pain. Even so, if you feel that there are gestures that are often repeated in your daily life, try to be aware of them and perform them in the right way.
