OK Mobility collaborates with the Princess of Girona Foundation in the development of young people’s talent

King Felipe and Queen Letizia presided over the Princess of Girona Foundation’s ceremony in Palma, during which the award in the category of Scientific Research, which the foundation grants annually, was announced.

The event, part of the so-called “Talent Tour” and officially sponsored by OK Mobility, was attended by the CEO of the global mobility company, Othman Ktiri. The Princess of Girona Foundation aims to promote entrepreneurship and education among young people by organising events and activities aimed at young people and touring several Spanish cities.

The Foundation, created in 2009 and chaired by Princess Leonor, organises its annual awards to promote and encourage initiative and effort, scientific research and artistic creativity, solidarity and the development of the talent of young entrepreneurs and innovators who show concern for building a fairer world in a globalised environment and who can take risks and the necessary motivation to bring about change in society.

At OK Mobility, we are proud to collaborate in developing young entrepreneurs’ talent.

Humanitarian aid arrives in Ukraine

Tons of Mallorcan solidarity reach the orphanages and hospitals of the Ukrainian region of Transkarpatia thanks to the “Ukraine is not alone” project promoted by the NGO Llevant en Marxa, which has partnered with OK Mobility, through the Fundación Othman Ktiri.

For three days an expedition of volunteers from the Mallorcan NGO travelled, aboard a trailer and three OK Mobility vans, the thousands of kilometres that separate Mallorca and the Ukrainian border in Slovakia to achieve the objective of bringing humanitarian aid to the victims of the war.

Loaded with tons of food and medical material, the convoy met the planned schedule and three days after leaving Mallorca and after a stopover at OK Village, OK’s logistics facilities in Barcelona, where the collected material was received, the expedition arrived at the border to deliver the aid.

At OK Mobility we are proud of the Mallorcan society’s great response and we would like to thank them for their support and solidarity to this initiative promoted by the NGO Llevant en Marxa.

5 tips for maintaining correct posture in the office

Age, a sedentary lifestyle, poor posture at work and even hereditary factors can cause back pain. To prevent this common ailment, it is important to exercise regularly to keep the back muscles strong and flexible.

It is also crucial to take care of our posture at the workplace, especially when we spend eight hours or more in front of a computer screen.

By following these five tips, you can prevent the infamous “office ailments” ranging from spinal problems, backaches and headaches to tendonitis and joint discomfort.

#1 Change your posture

Changing posture from time to time increases circulation and makes blood and oxygen move better throughout the body. It is advisable to stand up for a few minutes every now and then to walk and stretch, and to rest your eyes for at least five minutes.

#2 Neck and head in upright position

If you work in front of a computer it is important to keep your neck straight. Adjust your chair to achieve this position or place an object under your computer screen to raise it to eye level. Remember that the computer screen should be about 45 centimetres away from your face.

#3 Sit properly

When spending so many hours sitting on the same chair, it is very common to slouch. Therefore, the back should always be against the backrest, with lumbar support, to keep the spine straight and upright. In addition, the chest should also be straight and the shoulders should never be raised when typing or writing.

#4 Feet in contact with the ground and legs never crossed

The position of our feet is a fundamental element in achieving the correct posture to avoid back pain. We must always keep our feet in contact with the ground, i.e. resting on a surface. If you have already adjusted your chair and your feet are not firmly on the floor, you can use a footrest. Moreover, the legs should always be at right angles to the back and should never be crossed.

#5 Avoid repetitive movements

When we repeat a gesture many times, we can overload the muscles and cause pain. Even so, if you feel that there are gestures that are often repeated in your daily life, try to be aware of them and perform them in the right way.

Jorge Navarro makes the podium in the Portuguese Moto2 GP with the support of OK Mobility

In April, rider Jorge Navarro took third place on the podium at the Portuguese GP of the Moto2 World Championship.

An important result for Navarro, who needed a good result in this race to stay close to the top 10 of the overall Moto2 World Championship rankings.

The Valencian rider is currently in his sixth Moto2 season. In his sporting career, Navarro fought for the Moto3 World Championship in the 2016 season before making the jump to the intermediate category and in 2019 he was already fighting for the Moto2 title, obtaining fourth position.

At OK Mobility, we are excited to accompany the young driver, covering his travels, in his fight for the title.
