5 practical tips to beat the heat

The arrival of high temperatures makes it difficult to carry out certain daily activities such as moving around, exercising, or simply getting to sleep at night.

If the temperature ever becomes unbearable, here are some handy hints to help you beat the heat.

Check out these five tips so that the heat doesn’t impact negatively on your health:

#1 Hydrate. Drink plenty of water and fluids. Do not drink too many caffeinated drinks, alcohol, or sugary soft drinks.

#2 Eat well. Eat little and often and choose light dishes that also help keep your body hydrated, such as salads, fruit, or cold soups like gazpacho.

#3 Protect yourself from the sun. Use sunscreen and reapply it several times a day.

#4 Do sport “wisely“. Avoid outdoor sports in the middle of the day.

#5 Look out for vulnerable people. Babies, toddlers, the elderly, or the chronically ill require special attention in hot weather.
